The College & Department
We are a high-achieving college with superb facilities and attract 3,000+ sixth form students across the region each year. We are based within the stunning New Forest National Park and offer our students a vast, broad range of programmes.
The Learning Support team of 50, provide cross college support from Entry Level to A –Level to students with a diverse range of needs.
As a Lead Learning Support Assistant, you will work be required to liaise closely with teaching staff to facilitate access and engagement to learning for students with identified additional support needs and/or those in receipt of an EHCP. You will be required to assist tutors in the management of students and identify strategies that will support the students’ ability to engage with their attendance at the College and achieve the best possible outcomes for them.
You will work closely with the learning Difficulties and Disabilities Co-ordinator and tutors to further identify learning needs and additional supports requirements.
You will hold regular team meetings with LSAs and support the coordination of timetabling, absence, sickness and holiday leave to ensure that all LSA requirements are met by staff.
As a member of staff at the college you will have to be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to Safeguarding, health, safety and security, reporting all concerns as appropriate.
Key responsibilities, skills and attitudes
• GSCE educated with C Grade or above in Maths, English and ICT
• Minimum LSA Level 2 Qualification
