WESS is a friendly but highly ambitious company. We operate in the further education college sector across Bournemouth, Poole and the New Forest providing a full suite of business support services including transactional finance processing, accountancy and MI reporting, learner data management (admissions, enrolments, examinations), and HR. We employ about 85 people directly and support two FE Colleges with a combined income of about £50M and serving over 15,000 learners and employers annually. The Head of Finance Shared Services is a senior team post, reporting directly to the Executive Head, and is a critical role designing, leading and managing Finance shared services service delivery, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

You must be a qualified accountant and we anticipate that you will have at least 5 years leadership and management experience in service-oriented environments. You will have an excellent working knowledge of utilising and developing finance technology systems and reporting, and be able to use a range of software for communications, analysis and forecasting purposes. In addition, you should be able to demonstrate effective communication and negotiation skills with stakeholders at all levels
in the organisation. Experience working in the education sector may be an advantage. You will be required to travel between the various locations at which we provide services.
