If so, Bournemouth and Poole College are currently recruiting for a new Performing Arts Technician to join their Performing Arts Team in Bournemouth. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in the Theatre production area and will be able to demonstrate their adaptability and flexibility to everyday task. We are also for looking for candidates who have an ability to think on their feet and develop innovative and creative ideas to better the service of the Performing Arts department.

Job Description

The Role

As a Theatre Technician you will undertake a variety of technical theatre duties, ensuring the smooth running of all performing arts courses. Some of these duties will involve the construction of stage properties, setting up sound and lighting equipment, maintenance and repairs of any technical equipment and ensuring that all performing arts sites remain clean, tidy and safe. Additionally, you will demonstrate your adaptability by undertaking a variety of pre-planned and unplanned duties on an ad hoc basis depending on the needs of the Performing Arts Department.

•Knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations
•Knowledge of theatre running
•Previous experience working in the theatre production environment
•Previous experience setting up and operating lighting and sound equipment
•Understanding of the operational activities of theatre
•Dynamic, positive and innovative approach
•Adaptable and flexible working attitude
•Team player
•Qualified to level 3 in a relevant subject as a minimum
