Felixstowe Academy is situated on the beautiful Suffolk coast; a fantastic place to live and work, a reasonable travelling distance from London, Cambridge and Norwich. We are an inclusive 11-18 Academy and part of Academies Enterprise Trust (AET). We have a new state of the art building equipped with a ‘super-lab’, a number of multi-purpose learning spaces, performance spaces which are set in large grounds on the edge of Felixstowe.

Technology is at the cutting edge of developments, with access to iPads for staff as well as Chromebooks for students. Achievement and participation in Sports and Arts are very high with students succeeding at local, county and national level. In addition, we can offer you a welcoming environment with supportive colleagues, and a strong focus on staff induction, training and development.

We are looking to appoint an Apprentice Clerical Assistant to join our team and contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the school office as well as providing reception cover as and when required. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to learn about office / finance processes, and quality customer service, all within a secondary school environment.

You will complete a Level 2 BTEC Certificate in Business Administration. You may also be required to complete Literacy, Numeracy and IT Functional Skills (this will be determined by existing qualifications). Your Trainer/Assessor will assess you in the workplace every 4 weeks. In between these meetings you will have dedicated time away from your job to work on the apprenticeship and collate evidence for your apprenticeship e-portfolio with ongoing support from your Manager and Trainer/Assessor.

This is an exciting opportunity to be in a real job, with real variety, from day one whilst working towards a qualification.

To be eligible for the Apprenticeship, applicants must have resided in the UK or EEA for 3 years prior to the start of the Apprenticeship and must not hold a level 3 (or equivalent) qualification or above. Please note: applicants must not be a graduate or have already completed a Level 2 Business Administration apprenticeship

This will be a fixed term position and the duration of the apprenticeship will be determined by the job role and current skills.

Please note: AET has their own in house apprenticeship scheme and do not work with any other training providers to deliver Apprenticeships.

As the sponsor, AET believes that all young people deserve to become world-class learners – to learn, enjoy, succeed and thrive in a first rate educational environment with the best facilities, the best teaching and the most up-to-date resources available to them. In each of our academies, you will benefit from visionary, inspirational and dynamic leadership and be empowered to develop your own skills with access to world-class CPD and Talent Management programmes. You will also be entitled to the following benefits: a health cash plan, childcare vouchers and rewards.

This position is required to commence as soon as possible. Interviews will be held as soon as possible after the closing date.
