PeoplePlus is currently recruiting for a number of Business Development roles and would like to hear from experienced individuals at all levels. There will be a
requirement to work from our Birmingham office on a regular basis but there is no fixed location for these roles and salary is competitive dependent upon experience.
The Bid Manager / Bid Writer will support PeoplePlus’s growth aspirations by winning new business through high quality bid development, broader sales activity and
shaping our markets through strategic insight.
What You Will Be Doing
Active leadership and hands on involvement in the bid development process, including planning, analysis of requirements, storyboarding, and the production of
high quality written content to tight demanding deadlines.
Planning, writing and submitting high quality tenders for existing and new customers
Working as part of a team in developing both small and large scale tenders of strategic value
Leading bids/projects on an individual basis and leading other teams within a matrix management structure
Joint work with finance and operations teams
Research and scanning for new market opportunities
Delivery of presentations and attendance at face-to-face meetings with clients
Attending networking and forum events to generate potential new contacts and business
Networking and partnership development to identify, target and convert supply chain opportunities
Producing and maintaining accurate administration and pipeline information.
What You Will Need To Have
Equivalent industry experience
The ideal candidate for the job will be expected to produce professionally written proposal content that clearly articulates the organisations value proposition.
This is a networked role that requires an ability to work under pressure and to demanding deadlines.
Able to proactively develop and manage a network of subject matter experts.
The ability to identify and re-work existing pre-written content where relevant.
Ability to communicate and influence at a senior level.
Strong time management / prioritisation skills.
Strong written English language skills.
Demonstrable evidence of working on complex bids to tight deadlines.
Strong project management experience.
Experience of working with multi-layered (matrix) sales/implementations/operations teams on the bid process.
Proficient user of Microsoft Office (PPT/Word/Excel), SharePoint, and other bid/proposal related tools.
The ideal candidate for this job should be able to write effective, concise and compelling content while under the pressure sometimes associated with
deadlines. The ability to work as a team and to get accurate, high quality information from all bid stakeholders in order to produce bid collateral is essential.

Experience of working within one of the following sectors: Skills, Employability, Justice, Youth and Health and Social care.
