LOCATION: HOMEBASED AND WORKING ACROSS GROUP SITES
The purpose of this job is to coordinate support for Trainees with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND.)
The coordinator will work closely with the Traineeship Provision and the Additional Learning Support Team interviewing and placing support for our trainees. Where necessary, the coordinator will also undertake some in- class support at various locations.
£18-£23K basic salary

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Be directly responsible to the Head of Learning Support and provide a proactive student focused service for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)in the traineeship provision on site and off site
Interview and complete paperwork for all students who are eligible under the Trainee Additional learning Support Policy
Have highly ethical and professional standards when liaising with external partners .
Be able to timetable effective in- class support for students, and ,when required , ensure strict compliance with support detailed in Educational Health and Care Plans
Be responsible for keeping and reporting on accurate and up to date support data ensuring that all support is delivered within a designated budget
Monitor and review support at regular intervals, where necessary, organising and chairing Reviews with internal and external partners
Liaise with traineeship staff to enhance their planning and advise on the recommended differentiated support for trainees
Deliver in class support for students implementing the recommendations and support strategies of the Student Support Plan
Recommend and utilise specialist assistive technology to support teaching and learning and promote independence for trainees
Be expected (if required) to carry out personal care for a student
A strong understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
The necessary experience ,skills and personal qualities to gain immediate close working relationships with trainees who require support
The experience to know when and how to make interventions to ensure that trainees make sustainable progression
Understanding of carrying out personal care for a student
A driving license , use of a car and flexibility to travel between sites
