The Children’s Literacy Charity is a registered charity that works in socially and economically disadvantaged areas alongside primary school pupils who struggle to read and write. Our provision combines with whole school services to work together to help children unlock and realise their true potential.

Literacy Intervention Tutors, S & SE London
Part Time: 2/4 days per week
Salary: Full-time equivalent of £14, 420

The successful candidates will work in a small team in one of our Literacy Labs in a number of primary schools in South London. Each Lab team is made up of a minimum of 2 Tutors. Pupils are taught twice a week using our established programme. Responsibilities include teaching an agreed number of pupils on a one to one basis, administration, making resources and helping to make the centre a friendly and welcoming place for pupils and visitors.

The ideal applicants will be:
• literate and proficient in English
• experienced in working with or looking after primary aged children
• able to demonstrate empathy, understanding and patience towards children who are experiencing learning difficulties
• a good team player
• confident in handling IT (in particular Word, Excel, Outlook)
