Are you an Engineering Graduate considering a career in teaching in the post 16 sector or have current experience and a strong background in engineering?
This post is a fantastic opportunity for an engineering graduate or experienced industry professional who is interested in teaching in the post 16 sector whilst undertaking a full Teaching Qualification.
Applicants must hold either an Engineering degree or a Level 4 qualification in Engineering with relevant industry experience and GCSE grade A* to C in English and mathematics. Previous experience of teaching is not required and through funding for “SET for Teaching Success” provided by the Education and Training Foundation, we can offer you an opportunity to obtain a full Teaching Qualification (DET, Cert Ed or PGCE).
The Science and Engineering curriculum covers a wide range of A Level subjects including BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Engineering and HNC Engineering. You will be supported by an experienced team of staff and have the opportunity to work in the College’s newly built accommodation, with specialised laboratories and resources. During your traineeship you will not only undertake formal teacher training at College or a University, but your training programme at work will mean you will also learn on the job.
Starting Salary: £16,520 - £24,310 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week (8:30 am – 5:00 pm Monday – Thursday and 8:30 am – 4:30 pm Friday)
