As a Talent Acquisition Specialist & Learner Support you will be responsible for providing a comprehensive end to end best practice recruitment and learner support service to internal customers (operational and HR managers) who are recruiting, on boarding and managing apprentices.
You will, through effective and efficient candidate attraction, meet and exceed agreed SLA's to deliver cost, time and quality benefits to the DSC UK&I business.
Key Responsibilities in this role will include:
Support recruiting managers throughout the recruitment process, from arranging and conducting the verbal brief, conducting telephone / video interviews, candidate sourcing, compiling shortlists, arranging interviews to verbal offer and feedback
Regularly checking learner progress against plans, escalating to manager any areas of concern of lack of progress and agree actions to resolve, bring progress back on track
Act as a point of contact for any learner queries
Amend and activate internal and external adverts using our applicant tracking system
Maintain appropriate levels of contact and communication with candidates during the recruitment process which supports DSC’s “employers of choice” status irrespective of final outcome
Provide recruitment and selection advice to recruiting managers in line with the resourcing strategy
Maintenance of employment brand, both internally & externally achieving “employer of choice” status
Regularly obtain feedback from candidates and customers to ensure an excellent service is achieved, maintained and improved.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with recruiting managers and HR Business Partners
Provides advice on local legislation and compliance issues related to Talent Acquisition
Provide support for additional recruitment activity e.g. recruitment fairs, assessment centres, open days, and other resourcing events as appropriate either in a physical presence to run the day or consultative guidance
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with key recruitment service providers and apprenticeship recruitment offices
Work closely with other centralised HR functions including HR Shared Services and Compensation/Benefits to ensure full end to end service is available
Works closely with other members of the Talent Team to maximize overall effectiveness
Key skills and experience in this role will include:
Recruitment experience, ideally recruiting apprentices
Previous experience of supporting active learners on training programmes (desirable)
Excellent communication skills with the ability to demonstrate effective influencing skills
Strong organisational and time management skills
Excellent IT skills with a good understanding of employment law
Tenacious with a ‘can do’ attitude
Ability to deliver objectives and meet tight deadlines in a fast paced, demanding environment
Understanding of costs and ways in which they can be influenced
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate across the business
In depth experience of recruitment and selection practices, including use of job boards and social networks
Designing and running assessment centres / processes
