Salary/Benefits: Salary from £40,000 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 35 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, Teacher’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.
Hours/Weeks: 37hrs per week

About the role:
We are currently seeking a Programme Manager in Pathways to join our Foundation Learning department at The Bedford College group.
As a Programme Manager, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
- Pathways Provision Management – Lead operation and development; ensure high-quality teaching and learning; represent pathways at local and Group levels.
- Team Management – Oversee team performance; support Head of Department; achieve strategies and workplans; ensure statutory requirements are followed.
- Student Support – Liaise with SEND professionals and Additional Learning Support; provide guidance and support for informed decisions and personalized action plans.
- Curriculum Development – Deliver relevant curriculum; support growth provision; engage with employers and community leaders; achieve KPI targets.
- Student Outcomes – Maximize success rates; set and monitor targets; address EHCP needs; take action on underperformance; contribute to self-assessment and quality improvement.
- People Management – Ensure professional development; lead recruitment and induction; implement people management policies.
- College Responsibilities – Attend other campuses; support ID checks, invigilation, open days; promote safeguarding, equality, health and safety; participate in training and development.
About you:
- Qualifications and Experience – Degree or relevant industry experience, GCSE English and Maths, teaching qualification, high performance in previous roles, relevant work experience.
- Leadership and Management – Successful management/team leadership in Further Education, ability to lead and manage a team, set and achieve goals, promote high-quality learning.
- Teaching and Quality Assurance – Experience teaching across levels, knowledge of quality assurance systems, use IT systems to manage courses, support high-quality learning experiences.
- Skills and Attributes – Effective communication, organisational skills, ability to work under pressure, build professional relationships, promote college reputation, respond to challenges.
- Compliance and Flexibility – Promote safeguarding, equality, and health and safety; adapt working hours; travel to campus locations; maintain professional boundaries.
