Job Details
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to provide caretaking and estates services for our lovely school! Duties will include supporting senior leaders with the management of health and safety throughout the school, as well as carrying out repairs and maintaining the school site. The role is based on working 30 hours per week, term time plus 6 weeks in the school holidays (44 working weeks per year).

What we are looking for:
We are looking for an individual who has a very flexible and ‘common-sense’ approach to suit the varied aspects of the job. No day will ever be the same! The successful candidate will be a confident communicator as they will need to liaise with staff, contractors and members of the wider ‘Ormiston family’ to ensure the school building is a safe place for staff, pupils and visitors. We are looking for someone who can demonstrate commitment, energy, and drive and who has a practical, hands-on approach to finding solutions to problems. The successful candidate will:
- have a broad and balanced education and be able to evidence good numeracy and literacy skills
- have the ability to interpret and follow policies and procedures
- have the ability to perform the physical tasks required by the post
- be rigorous in maintaining high standards of behaviour and attitude and model this
- be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and develop and maintain effective working relationships with a range of people
- have the ability to use IT to a proficient standard
- have the ability to work well in a team and independently
- Be willing to undertake any training relevant to the post, as directed
