Cover Supervisor
Job Details
We are looking for a Cover Supervisor to be involved mainly in the supervision of classes and to oversee the completion of work by students in the absence of the nominated teacher. The role is based on working 31.25 hours per week, term time plus 1 week (39 working weeks), working hours are 8.15am to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday.
Good interpersonal skills are required together with the ability to earn and maintain the respect of students and to ensure the appropriate codes of classroom behaviour are observed. Applicants for this post must be enthusiastic and possess a determined character, together with a positive approach to working with young people and the ability to set clear guidelines for them. Flexibility is required and the ability to support other functions and administrative tasks within the academy as directed.
This post is open to any applicant with suitable skills and experience regardless of qualifications although the position may be particularly attractive to graduates thinking of a career in teaching in the longer term.
