Role: Technician – Hair & Beauty

Location: Tresham College – Corby Campus

About the role:

We are currently seeking a Technician to join our Hair & Beauty  Department at The Bedford College group.

  • To provide technical support and assistance to Lecturers and trainers in salon areas.
  • To maintain salon facilities and ensure serviceability and security of stock and equipment, and ensure Health and Safety requirements are met.
  • To provide First aid response to learners, clients or staff where necessary.

About you:

  • Experience in Hair / Beauty industry.
  • Willingness to achieve Literacy and Numeracy Level 2 or equivalent or English and Maths or similar at GCSE grade A-C or equivalent
  • Willingness to work towards a First Aid qualification if not already held
  • Knowledge of current practices and treatments in hairdressing & beauty therapy
  • Competence in checking and testing of electrical equipment for safe use
  • Evidence of high performance in previous roles/jobs
  • Experience of working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Evidence of understanding how to promote equality and diversity within the job roleAbility to communicate effectively and confidently face to face, on the telephone and in writing
