Working Pattern: 14.8 hrs (0.4 FTE)
About the role:
The Bedford College Group are currently seeking an Art Technician to join our Arts Department at the Bedford College – Cauldwell Campus.
As an Art Technician, you will play a key role in the success of our students through:
- Providing technical support in the field of Fashion & Textile and digital applications, for students and staff in areas of Art and Design
- Liaising with Head and teaching staff for day-to-day operational duties
- Undertaking general duties in art and design curriculum areas
About you:
Ideal candidates will have:
- Have a level 2 literacy and numeracy qualification or willingness to work towards
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures and practices
- Knowledge of PC computers and associated equipment related to art and design practice • Experience in using equipment/processes/software in a based digital workshop [including Adobe and Microsoft]
- Knowledge of equipment maintenance and safe working practices
- Some experience in garment construction, specialising in sewing techniques, pattern cutting and fabric manipulation techniques/sampling. A good understanding of the production process in fashion and textiles.
- Ability to demonstrate effective IT skills
- Self-motivated and can demonstrate having worked with a minimum of supervision
