Chief Executive Officer
Start date from April 2022, to be mutually agreed
We are looking for a values driven and exceptional team player to be our next CEO….is that you?
STEP Academy Trust was set up to improve the life chances of children, and we do that in a community of academies that unitedly strive together for excellence. Fundamental to achieving this aim are leaders who recognise and appreciate their role as custodians of STEP. What do we mean by this? A STEP leader thinks: “we” not “I”, “us” not “me”; and is driven by a moral purpose that is evident for all to see.
Due to the retirement of our founding CEO Mark Ducker, we are seeking an individual with considerable and relevant experience leading high performing teams. This experience may come from leading a Trust at present, or you may be working at an executive level within the education sector, yet to make that move into a CEO role. Wherever your experience comes from, if you
believe you can contribute to STEP, we would like to hear from you.
Before getting in touch, we are sure you will want to familiarise yourself with our website (www.stepacademytrust.org) and especially understand our operating model – something we call the STEP Compass. The Compass is the central heart of STEP, and we expect all staff – not just our leaders – to understand and respect the role it has played in the past to enable us to be the Trust we are, and the role it will play in future.
The salary for this role will be competitive but not excessive.
For an application pack, please contact STEP Executive Secretary, Cheryl Gilbert: firstname.lastname@example.org
If you would like an informal conversation with our CEO please contact Cheryl Gilbert who will be happy to facilitate.
