A fantastic opportunity has arisen to pilot the new ‘Enhance’ provision as we expand our offer. As the Team Leader you will lead Enhance delivery and grow and develop our specialist provision.
MidKent College is an inclusive institution offering a broad curriculum with extensive support for students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Our Enhance program provides a specialist wraparound support offer, facilitating students’ transition to college and supporting their Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) outcomes.

This five-day-a-week provision is designed for students with significant barriers to learning, enabling them to access both the Progression Curriculum and mainstream college courses. Students benefit from a dual curriculum model, personalised timetables, and high support ratios. Our dedicated team employs specialist approaches, including Speech and Language Therapy (SaLT), Occupational Therapy (OT), and Zones of Regulation, in a secure base room environment. The program focuses on developing resilience, autonomy, independence, employability, and social communication skills. Each student’s support needs are assessed prior to enrolment, and a bespoke support package is designed to foster increasing independence. Typically a one-year offer, the Specialist Provision is exclusively for students with an EHCP, after which they are supported within the wider college environment.

Overall you will contribute to the development of a College wide culture where all colleagues are confident and empowered to support SEND learners and those with additional barriers to their learning.

We are looking for a resilient and motivated individual who would like to have a key role in the success of our students as they transition to College from specialist providers. You will manage the delivery of effective provision which helps learners with SEND develop their independence so that they may be successful in their daily lives.
If you have strong influencing skills and the drive to remove barriers to education then this is the role for you!
