Bexleyheath Academy is seeking a dedicated and experienced School Operations Manager to join our team and play a pivotal role in enabling our school to deliver a first class education to its students.

As the School Operations Manager, you will be the linchpin of operational stability, ensuring a seamless process between the school and the central/regional team. Reporting directly to the Principal, you will oversee all operational activities within the school, ranging from estates management to HR coordination, finance management, IT support, health and safety compliance, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with central/regional teams on operational matters and manage school-specific operations.
  • Line manage School Facilities Managers and coordinate estates projects.
  • Support HR coordination, including recruitment, induction, and performance management.
  • Manage finance processes, including orders, invoices, cash, and credit card transactions.
  • Act as the main point of contact for IT support and digital partnership meetings.
  • Coordinate catering and cleaning services to uphold standards.
  • Implement and manage health and safety policies, GDPR compliance, and data protection.
  • Line manage administrative staff and oversee school events, communications, and marketing initiatives.
  • Manage logistics for communications to parents and external stakeholders.

  • Previous operational background with administrative, numeracy, and IT skills.
  • Experience in an educational environment is desirable.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to operate in line with the school’s values of bravery, discovery, pushing limits, and being big-hearted.

Bexleyheath Academy is proud to be a non-selective school in the grammar heartland of Kent. Bexleyheath Academy is quickly approaching capacity with students; in order to accommodate the demands of the local community and grow our skilled staff, we must expand. Joining a flourishing school at this time is an amazing opportunity!

With immediate train access to Central London and easy access to the Kent countryside, Bexleyheath has the best of both worlds. Despite having a Kent postcode, Bexleyheath is classified as Greater London due to its strategic location between Welling, Sidcup, and Bexley village. You can reach Dartford for the river crossing with a short drive along the A2.

Its thriving hub is The Broadway – a shopping district with added appeal in the shape of a bowling alley, cinema and a growing number of restaurants. A little beyond Bexleyheath and you’re at Bluewater, Ashford for the designer outlet and international rail travel to Europe.
