Ark Globe Academy is a mixed, all-through school, serving pupils aged 4-18 from the local community of Elephant & Castle. We have the highest aspirations for all our children to ensure they are prepared for university and inspired to be leaders in their community. We offer our students a first-class education based on high quality teaching and experiences outside of the classroom.

The Ark Globe curriculum encompasses the total experience of the student. Our curriculum covers a range of activities from what is learnt in the classroom to our expectations of how our students carry themselves, and make decisions, outside of it. For us, education is much more than a qualification; it is a way of being that results in an empowered young person who is able to secure a life of purpose and meaning.

We are part of the Ark network, one of the country’s most successful multi-academy trusts, with a well-regarded CPD offer for leaders and teachers at all levels. We are committed to nurturing our staff and invest significantly in their development.

The opportunity:

We are seeking to appoint a driven and passionate Associate Principal (based in our secondary phase). This position is ideal for a resilient leader looking for Headship within the next 18 months to 2 years.

The successful candidate will gain experience of leading a secondary school with the support of an established Executive Principal. The previous postholders employed for this role have all been successful on their pursuit of Headship and beyond.

Working alongside the Executive Principal, the Academy Leadership team (ALT) and the Strategic Leadership team (SLT), the successful candidate will have oversight of the secondary phase and will be responsible for driving school culture and standards as well as student outcomes.

What we offer:

·         Salary higher than the national pay scales

·         Twice as many training days as standard and network-wide events with Ark colleagues, held by the best minds in education

·         Coaching for every teacher

·         Access to the high-quality, professional development, including nationally recognised qualifications such as NPQSL & NPQH

·         Opportunities to collaborate with colleagues across the network

 How to apply:

To apply, please submit an application via the Ark recruitment portal by 9am on 16 April 2024 . If you have any questions, concerns or time constraints with this deadline please let us know.

We welcome conversations about the role and visits to our school. If you would like to be in touch for an informal and confidential conversation, please contact the Executive Assistant to the Principal, Catherine Moore, on c.moore@arkglobe.org
