After School Club Supervisor Lead 

 

The Vale Academy have a wonderful opportunity for an enthusiastic and energetic After School Club Supervisor Lead to join them working with children across the Academy age range (3 to 11 years). The main focus of this role is to plan, prepare and supervise the children in engaging, interesting and constructive activities. You will understand and implement safeguarding and health and safety of the children at all times.

The role of After School Club Supervisor Lead is offered on a permanent basis, working for 3 hours 30 minutes each session (2.00-5.30pm every day). 

You will be required to keep accurate records as well as building relationships with the parents and children. The successful candidate will work as part of a highly motivated and professional team. They will be an effective team worker and have a genuine desire to improve the outcomes of young people. Key Duties

Lead the After School Club team in providing high quality childcare and create fun activities

Plan and prepare after school activities and ensure safe and suitable activities are available including sports, arts & crafts, games etc.

 Supervise pupils throughout the session

 

Work with other members of the after-school club provision to ensure that children are safe and engaged at all times
Communicate with parents professionally and effectively at all times

 

·       To maintain good order and discipline amongst the pupils

·       To assist in clearing up areas used as part of the club

·       Provide the children with appropriate support and encouragement in the development of their social skills.

·       Liaising closely with the School Business Manager at all times

·       Provide First Aid when required.

 

The successful candidate will have

·       NVQ level 2 or 3 in Child Care / play work or equivalent – desirable

·       Recent experience of working with children aged 3 – 11

·       Knowledge of effective strategies for behaviour management with children

·       Excellent communication skills

·       Experience of working with children/young people with SEND and EAL

·       Confident to be First Aid trained

·       Good IT skills

·       Committed and keen to make a difference

·       Creative, engaging and dedicated.

·       Patience and resilience

 

 

Job Specifics

Start Date:    Asap

Salary:           NJC L2 4 £23,114 FTE Pro rata £9,519

Contract:      Part time, Permanent, Term time + INSET.

                        17.5 hours per week, 2pm – 5.30pm Monday to Friday
