London’s leading College is looking for an exceptional Optometrist to join its ambitious team as Lecturer in Ophthalmic Dispensing at the Centre for Applied Sciences in the Angel.
About the role:
We are looking to appoint a Lecturer in Ophthalmic Dispensing to teach and assess on the Level 6 Diploma in Ophthalmic Dispensing to adult learners. The role will involve delivery to students in their final year of study and the successful candidate will deliver elements of the curriculum such as low vision, contact lenses, ocular anatomy and refraction. The role is currently one day per week (Monday) with the potential to increase in line with curriculum growth.
The role will be based in the Health Academy Department in the Centre for Applied Sciences at our Angel campus
You will be a registered Optometrist, have experience of working within the sector and have relevant experience in teaching or training. You will also hold, or be willing to obtain a recognised teaching qualification. You will be used to maintaining professional and quality standards, and keeping high quality documentation.

City Islington College is an award-winning further education college in London with centres in Holloway, Angel and Finsbury Park.
